Finally, New Pics of ME!

Delee D'Arcy

This is Miss Delee! She is a "Certified Nurtured Heart Approach Trainer". Her tagline: "Hello, I'm Delee D'Arcy and I teach the power of positive parenting!" I love it! She is so nice. I enjoyed chatting with her while getting some great images for her marketing tools: website, blog, business cards, pamphlets, etc. I can't wait for her site to get up and going! So if you need therapy of any kind, give her a call: 713-302-6698.

I was referred to her by our mutual friend and trainer/owner, Tori Lococo at My Trainer in League City--another fabulous lady! (I love surrounding myself with strong, female business owners--very empowering and encouraging!)

Mr & Mrs Rodriguez

Tammy and Rudy are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary! Their 2 kids planned the best weekend get-away for them! Friday, they spent the night at the Kemah Boardwalk Inn, then Saturday, they got to spend the morning with me (how fun!) Everything was a surprise! They renewed their vows on Sunday evening....I think that's wonderful! Here are some of my favs from this fun little session:

Miss Bella Skye

This is the second time Miss Bella Skye has graced the blog. She lives in Colorado and only gets to come see Grandma LoLo ever so often, so when she does, we get pictures! This time we used the studio lights and got her in her Easter dress--which I absolutely loved! So old fashioned, classic, and elegant! I love those dresses! I think she looks like a porcelain doll--so pretty! She and Jackson would be so cute together--but they are both stubborn, independant, and have tantrums when you change their clothes, so they would probably end up killing each other! Yikes! But she is a sweet sweet baby girl! Here are the shots of the GORGEOUS Bella Skye:

Bradford Advertising

I was hired to take some photos for an ad agency here in Kemah. They are creating branding, a website, and an ad campaign for a home builder here in the Houston area. The theme: find your way home. The image: little boy with binoculars! So two times this week, I chased around Hayden. He is 2 years old, and the first day we tried, he had a double ear infection and a 103 degree fever! So sad! No smiles that day, so we made a second attempt a few days later, and I can honestly say, he was the ham his mom kept saying he was! He was so cute! I took Jackson to their home for a "play date/get Hayden to smile" and it worked! Jackson kept trying to give Hayden hugs, which made him laugh! Here are a few of the favs (my all-time fav: the last one!):

Happy 2 Year Anniversary

So on Wednesday, I was griping at Adam on how he is never romantic anymore, and how he doesn't plan things anymore, or buy me fun stuff (with the exception of my birthday party and birthday ring and my fabulous guitar--okay, maybe he's better than I give him credit for!) and all he did the entire argument was sit there and say "huh", "huh"...without even fighting back or defending himself (which pissed me off even more)! But boy did I eat my words!

Yesterday morning, I was awakened by Adam standing over me with Starbucks Cappuccino and a cinnamon roll with the words "Happy Anniversary! I need you to get packed, I have a surprise!" (our anniversary was April 30th, but we were both out of town, so we didn't spend it together...little did I know that this plan was 4 weeks in the making!!)

Next thing you know, we are packed, dropping Jackson off at Grandma Netty's, and we're off on an adventure to somewhere! I thought it was great! We stopped at Taco Milagro for lunch and then headed north on I-45.

Our secret destination: The Hyatt Downtown!! We arrived at the hotel at 3:00pm. Adam's plan was for us to put our swimsuits on and lounge at the pool for about an hour--RELAXING! I read a magazine and listened to the jazz music playing outside. Nice...

Then we were back to the room to change for dinner. In my formal dress and him in his suit, we headed up to the Spindletop Restaurant--the only revolving restaurant in Houston overlooking downtown. It was so nice. Adam had arranged for flowers and rose petals on the table! We had cocktails for an hour, then ordered our amazing dinner!

After dinner, we headed back to the room to relax. When we arrived, I had another surprise--champagne and chocolate covered strawberries! Same as we had on our wedding night when we stayed at the Hilton Clear Lake. So we ate strawberries, drank champagne, and watched Grey's Anatomy (how romantic! Ha!)

Then, we changed into going out clothes, and hit the town! We wanted to Bar Hop Houston since we haven't done that is Months and Months and Months (since we got preggers!) The problem: we were under a severe thunderstorm warning and it was POURING in downtown. We bought an umbrella in the gift shop and headed out anyway! We were soaked! But we DID get to ride the MetroRail which Adam had been wanting to do since the put the darn thing in! We finally made it to a great Jazz bar called Sambuka's where I got the BEST Mojito I have ever had! we listened to the live band and just talked and hung out like we used to when were childless! Just the two of us--it was great!

Mojito

* 2 ounces light rum
* 1 ounce lime juice
* 2 teaspoons sugar
* Mint
* Soda Water

Place sugar, a large pinch (small handful) of mint, and splash of soda water in a pint glass.
Use muddler to lightly press mint and dissolve sugar until it smells of spearmint gum.
Squeeze both halves of lime into the glass, leaving one hull in the mixture.
Add rum, stir, and fill with ice.
Top with soda water, garnish with mint sprig and serve.

If you have never had one, make one! It's SOOO good!

Today was wonderful! We got up and had breakfast downstairs along with Mimosas. Then we hit the Museum District (something we have been saying we were going to do for YEARS and have never gotten around to it!) The Museum of Fine Arts was amazing--I love artsy stuff like that! Then we went to the Museum of Health and Medicine--very interesting, then the Museum of Natural Science (my fav!). We saw an IMAX picture called Deep Sea 3D--fabulous! Then finally, to the Houston Center for Photography. The other cool part of the day--discovering the underground City of Houston. Literally, there are tunnels here in the city, along with shops and restaurants and cafes! I HAD NO IDEA! It was pretty cool!

It was a great, relaxing, 2-day trip. We were ready to get back to see our baby, though. He was just as cute as ever! We missed him! But I know he had a good time with the grandparents and Aunt Tacey!

Holly Bridals

This is my fabulous 07.07.07 bride! The scary thing is: we are a lot alike! Anal, perfectionists, organized, head-strong, anti-bride--I LOVE HER! After fighting traffic, the over-cast clouds, the wind, love bugs, and trespassing, we got some great images! There is an old, historic mansion in Clear Lake that is abandoned--long story--and has a fence all around it. Basically, we parked and walked and didn't get caught! There were signs all over saying "no trespassing" but we hurried! Yikes! Her parents have the most gorgeous back yard and we were able to use the studio light after it got dark to capture some amazing shots. Here are some of my favs from the "dramatic but fun" day:
