I have known Karl and Nichole since we first moved to Texas, almost 7 years ago. They moved in next door right after we did, and they've been like family ever since...they were there when Adam and I got engaged, Karl catered our wedding, they were at our party when we announced our pregnancy, they swam with me during the entire pregnancy, and now they are honerary Uncle Karl and Aunt Nichole to my son. My mom and Karl are the best of friends (they gossip more than two teenagers, it's hillarious!) We have been part of each other's lives for so long that we know too much about each other--seriously! So when Karl told us he was going to marry Nichole (after being together for nearly 9 years) we were thrilled!! They wanted a simple wedding, with their kids, at the courthouse, in jeans....yeah right! Do you know who you live next door to?! Ha!
The night before their big day, it was cold, and Karl came over to ask to borrow our wreath (the one that hangs outside on the front of the house!). So Mom and I went over and helped decorate the "alter". Simple cake and champagne--yeah right. You need a wedding cake, wedding napkins, and the champagne flutes left over from my wedding...and you need candles, music, an aisle to walk through, music.....
It was beautiful! Everyone arrived at the house, while Jim Brickman played in the background. Nichole wore a GORGEOUS gown she had been eyeing for weeks. She walked down the stairs and through the foyer to Karl to The Gift by Jim Brickman. The JP was super sweet--although I had never shot a ceremony that was so quick, but Nichole made it super special by suprising Karl with a song she sang, No Place that Far by Sara Evans. I cried....It was beautiful! And did I mention the cake was fantastic! (I love cakes from Randals...soooo goooooood!
I am so happy for these two! They are such a fun couple and I love them so much! Here are some of my favs from their special day (did I mention they honeymooned in Vegas, and my parents tagged along--long story, but they like to travel together--Karl and Nichole tagged along on Mom and Dad's 25th Anniversary trip to the Bahamas, so it only seemed appropriate!)
